Washington, D.C.—Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and First Vice Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, today released the following video invitation:

“Hi. I’m Joaquin Castro, Congressman from Texas. This message is for the people of my district in and around San Antonio. When I got into public service, I said I would do a few basic things: stand up for what I believe, explain why I believe what I do, and listen to people even when we disagree. Every day, some of you write, call, or post on social media to tell me why I’m wrong on health care, taxes, the Russia investigation and other issues. I can’t personally respond to every single criticism, but I’d like to give those of you who are interested a chance to come talk at a town hall with me and more people like you—people who often disagree with me. In times like this, people who disagree with each other need to do one basic thing: talk to one another. This is an official event, so everyone in my district is invited. But I especially would like to visit with those who often disagree with me. Our city, our country, this Congress is not going to get better until people who don’t see eye-to-eye are willing to sit down, face-to-face, and hear each other out. Please join me April 3 and RSVP to (210) 348-8216 or TownHall.RSVP.Castro@mail.house.gov.”
