Washington, D.C.—Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20), a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, today released the following video statement following the House Intelligence Committee’s vote to release the Republican’s Trump-Russia report:

“Hi, I’m Congressman Joaquin Castro from Texas. I am a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Today, the House Intelligence Committee Republicans voted to release their report which finds no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. This is a betrayal of the public trust. With the Cambridge Analytica and Facebook revelations this week, there is no possible way that this investigation is finished. The Majority conducted a see no evil, hear no evil investigation that failed to follow critical leads or call important witnesses. Given today’s vote, it’s clear that Democrats will need to continue inviting witnesses and producing documents to get the public what they need to know. Each time evidence of collusion becomes public, the American people will wonder why the House Intelligence Committee abandoned a critical investigation into Russia’s meddling in our election. Our work here is not done, and we must continue to make the truth public.”
