Internships
Internship opportunities run throughout the fall, spring or summer semester for college students. Students gain invaluable work experience and understanding of the functionality of a congressional office. Work hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules, but are generally 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. All interns are paid $15 an hour.
Washington, D.C.
The office of Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20) is seeking interns to assist the office with a variety of tasks. Interns are responsible for answering phones, researching legislation, attending hearings and briefings, and responding to constituent letters on the various issues that come before the House. As a result, interns have a firsthand look at the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office.
Candidates should be interested in public policy, detail-oriented, motivated, organized, willing to learn, have good phone etiquette, and strong writing skills. Candidates of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

San Antonio, TX
Interns in our San Antonio office will be asked to do many things, including day-to-day office work such as answering phones, writing letters and assisting with research, as well as assisting with constituent casework and handling district-based projects of importance. Working in our San Antonio office allows interns the opportunity to work directly with our constituents in the community.
