SAN ANTONIO— Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20), Chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC), released the following statement on Cinco de Mayo:
“The Congressional Hispanic Caucus proudly marks Cinco de Mayo. The story of the Battle of Puebla resonates with Mexican-Americans today; it’s the story of a resilient and proud people, and for that, we celebrate. Mexican-Americans have contributed immeasurably to this country's success. As Chair of the CHC, I’m honored to serve alongside so many other members of Congress who are descendants of immigrants from around the world.
