Castro Statement on Trump Voting Commission Pursuit of Texas Election Data
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20), First Vice Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, released the following statement after the Trump Administration’s voting commission pursued Texas election data flagging Hispanic voters:
“It’s likely this was part of a plan to suppress the Hispanic vote in Texas. Despite the President’s repeated claims, officials have found no evidence of voter fraud in the 2016 election. The lack of oversight of the commission and the President’s statements regarding people of Hispanic descent makes this news even more troubling.”
