Castro Statement on Net Neutrality Ruling

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20) issued the following statement on the Federal Communications Commission’s decision to dismantle net neutrality protections:

“Today, the FCC ignored the will of the American people. The openness of the internet has led to the creation of entirely new industries and transformed the U.S. economy. Undoing net neutrality rules will be particularly harmful for small businesses trying to compete with large corporations. An overwhelming majority of Americans favor net neutrality protections. It is unfortunate to see the FCC disregard the opinion of the American people and instead undermine policies that have made the United States the global hub of innovation in the 21st century.”
