SAN ANTONIO – Today, Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20) released his end-of-year report detailing 2023 accomplishments on behalf of the 20th Congressional District of Texas.
“Over the past two years, San Antonio residents have seen many reasons to be excited about the future. As the economy has rebounded and life has returned to normal, new jobs have brought thousands of families a better quality of life. As our city continues to grow, I want to make sure that no one is left behind,” said Congressman Joaquin Castro. “It’s an honor to represent my hometown, and I look forward to continuing my work to create good jobs, build a sound health care system, and strengthen the great public schools and universities that put San Antonians on track to pursue their dreams.”
Key 2023 accomplishments include:
- 811 constituent cases resolved successfully, with $3.1 million in federal benefits recovered for the people of San Antonio, including more than $352,000 from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- $521 million in federal grants secured for programs and services in San Antonio, including $20 million to expand and improve the San Antonio airport, $2 million to fund math and literacy tutoring in San Antonio schools, and hundreds of thousands of dollars to help LiftFund and other organizations support San Antonio small businesses as they grow and create jobs.
- 200+ bills sponsored and co-sponsored on behalf of the people of San Antonio.
