Castro Statement on Repeal of Net Neutrality Protections
WASHINGTON—Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and First Vice Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, today made the following statement on the Trump Administration’s repeal of net neutrality protections:
“The Trump Administration’s repeal of net neutrality protections with the FCC rule change that takes effect today represents a broader assault on a free and open Internet. Repealing net neutrality protections will hurt consumers and businesses and jeopardize access to jobs and the entrepreneurial spirit of the American Dream. Congress has a duty to protect the interests of the American people and restore these protections. I support the Congressional Review Act (CRA) actions that succeeded in the Senate and are currently being pursued in the House to overturn the FCC’s destructive decision. I urge Speaker Ryan to bring the CRA resolution to a vote on the House floor.”
