CASTRO STATEMENT ON JAPANESE AMBASSADOR'S VISIT TO SAN ANTONIO

San Antonio, TX – Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20), founding co-chair of the U.S.-Japan Caucus and member of the House Foreign Affairs and Armed Services Committees, released the following statement after the conclusion of Japanese Ambassador Kenichiro Sasae’s visit to San Antonio:

“It was a pleasure and honor to host Ambassador Sasae in San Antonio today. I’m grateful that he took time to meet with local leaders and learn more about our city’s economic and cultural ties with Japan. For the students at Tafolla Middle School, the Ambassador’s visit inspired them to continue their Japanese studies and emphasized the importance of person-to-person, cross cultural engagement. These are the kinds of conversations and exchanges that we in the U.S.-Japan Caucus encourage. Frequent and open dialogue between the people of our nations will help the United States and Japan tackle challenges and foster prosperity for generations to come.”
