CASTRO SWORN IN AS REPRESENTATIVE OF TEXAS CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT 20

Washington, D.C.—Joaquin Castro was sworn in as the Representative of Texas Congressional District 20 for the 113th United States Congress.
During the ceremony, the freshman Congressman was joined by family, friends, and supporters who made the trip from San Antonio to Washington, D.C.

“I am honored and humbled to represent the people of San Antonio in the United States House of Representatives,” said Castro. “I look forward to being a tireless advocate for those who call San Antonio home. From supporting our military families to investing in education, I am committed to helping mold an infrastructure of opportunity for San Antonians and Americans around the country.”

Congressman Castro will be serving on the House Armed Services Committee, as well as the House Foreign Affairs Committee. He was also named Assistant Whip for House Democrats.
