As a member of Congress, I worked with the San Antonio Police Department and the Department of Justice to secure a $1 million federal grant for SAPD body cameras. But we need more than just cameras to ensure law enforcement performs according to the high standards we expect of them. Today, Councilman Rey Saldaña and I called for greater accountability in the city’s proposed police contract.
Today I spoke at the Air Force Sergeants Association's convention in San Antonio about ways to support the men and women of the United States Air Force, our nation’s veterans, and our military’s readiness.

It was great to meet with a German delegation visiting San Antonio through the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). As a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, I find it very valuable to hear from folks who live in different countries, particularly in today's interconnected world.
