This morning in the Foreign Affairs Committee I voted in favor of legislation that will bolster our nation’s counterterrorism efforts. I also voted for a bill that aims to end certain dangerous tropical diseases.

Today, I joined a bipartisan group of elected officials for a briefing on the security and infrastructure deficiencies at San Antonio’s John Wood Federal Courthouse. For years, I have pushed for federal funding to build a safe, structurally sound courthouse.
I took a fun tour of Huppertz Elementary School in San Antonio today and heard about the great work Teach For America teachers are doing there. I’m grateful for all the wonderful teachers in San Antonio, and I also appreciate the festive turkey hat some students I met today made for me.
